We all have some new year’s resolution in mind, but sometimes it is hard to actual implement those plans. We’re looking forward to a fresh start, but if you’re aiming too high, you can get quickly disappointed. Sometimes things happen how you wouldn’t have them imagined. As a result, you will lose the motivation. → My motto: set yourself tangible and realistic goals! Several small improvements will make big changes and it also has a positive impact on you. Therefore I would like to present you my top 10 of small improvements, that will make you feel better and gives you an auspicious start for 2019
1. Be kind!
In 2019 we should all trying to grow closer and spread positive energy. You can start with a friendly smile and polite manners. Treat your fellows the way you would like to be treated.
2. Be grateful
Gratitude is one of the most important qualities, which often come up too short. Think about what you are grateful for and try to convey it to the right people
3. Increase physical activity
This does NOT mean you should go to the gym 4 to 5 times per week. On the contrary, you can start with long walks and taking the stairs instead of using the elevator or escalator.
4. Take time for yourself
Taking time for yourself is not selfish. Occasionally we forget about the needs of ourselves! Take your time for a cozy wellness evening with a bath, facial masks and perhaps a glass of wine. :
5. Spare time for family and friends
Appreciate every minute with your loved ones and take nothing for granted. Plan weekends trips, where you try to visit your family members or just go out to eat dinner together.
6. Ceasing the use of plastic bags
The abandonment of plastic bags is relatively difficult for us as we live in a disposable society. But as soon as we pay a little more attention, we’re willing to achieve this resolution. For example dispose some shopping bags in the hallway or in the car.
7. Reduce meat consumption
Have you ever thought about how much meat you consume in a month or a week? Just pay attention to it, because excessive meat consumption is not good for your health and also for the environment. Try to mark some days per week, when you do not want to consume meat.
8. Sleep well!
Time is running fast and the days are getting shorter and shorter. After a long day at work or at university, there is still so much stuff to do at home. We go to the gym, we have to cook, tidy up the apartment, doing laundry, etc. and it’s already super late in the evening. Try to structure your next day and do less in the evening so you can make it all up and still get to bed early… and very important: before you go to bed, turn the smartphone off! 😉
9. Avoid stress
The everyday life can be often quite stressful and your to-do-list gets longer and longer. You can counteract this by making realistic plans and organizing the day in a structured way.
10. Do a good deed!
Doing a good deed makes you happier and also the feeling afterwards is indescribable. It’s the attempt to pay more attention in life, pleasing other people and occasionally donate. Altruistic behavior gives you a beautiful feeling and you get lots of karma points. 😉
